1. be about to : 이제 막~하려 하다.
- The airplanes are about to land at the nearby airport.
비행기들이 근처공항에 착륙하려고 하고 있다.

2. activity : 활동
- It's not good weather for outdoor activities
야외 활동을 하기에는 좋은 날씨가 아니다.

3. address : 연설하다, 주소
- The speaker is addressing the group.
연사가 그룹에게 연설하고 있다.

4. aircraft : 비행기
- There are several small aircraft on the ground.
지상에 서너 대의 비행기가 있다.

5. aisle : 교실이나, 비행기, 슈퍼마켓에서 사람들이 걸어다닐 수 있는 통로, 복도
- He's standing in the aisle.
그는 통로에 서있다.

6. alternate : 교대의, 번갈아 하는
- The men and women are sitting in alternate seats.
  남녀가 교대로 앉아있다.

7. appoint : 임명하다
- He is just appointed to the board of directors.
  그는 이사회에 임명되었다.

8. appointment : (시간) 약속
- He is making a doctor's appointment.
  그는 의사와 예약을 하고 있다.

9. approach : 다가가다
- The vehicles are approaching the camp.
  차량들이 캠프에 다가가고 있다.
cf. Vehicle : 날것들, 주로 차량. approach는 marry, mention, discuss처럼 타동사이므로 전치사 없이 바로 목적어를 동반한다.

10.  article : (신문이나 잡지의) 기사, 물건
- She's finished clipping out the article.
  그녀는 기사를 철하는 일을 끝냈다.
- He is reading an article.
  그는 기사를 읽고 있다.
cf. Finish: 동사원형+ing, finish는 enjoy처럼 동명사만을 목적어로 취한다.

11.  arrange : 가지런히 정리하다
- The chairs are arranged in rows.
  의자가 줄지어 배열되어 있다.

12.  assistant : 보조원, 조수
- The sales assistants are helping the customers.
  판매 보조원들이 고객을 돕고 있다.

13.  athlete : 운동선수
- The athletes are taking off their shoes.
  운동선수들이 신발을 벗고 있다.

14.  auditorium : 강당
- People are leaving the auditorium.
  사람들이 강당을 떠나고 있다.
- The audience is enjoying the music.
  청중이 음악을 즐기고 있다.
